A Lady of Power

Hillary Clinton has been in the spotlight of the political world for an eternity, too dramatic? But really, it feels like one! Anyways, a fellow Midwesterner whose destiny was to pursue politics, which began at the Law School of Yale where she met her spouse, Bill Clinton. This was the beginning of her campaign to raise the rights of women in America and the sparks to her presidential aspirations in future years.

It all began when she served as first lady from 1993-2001, then became a U.S. senator from 2001-2009. Her dreams of presidency to this day has resulted in multiple downturns in the ultimate political dream of becoming our first female President. She holds the role of a women’s rights activist and government official, which Obama appointed her as the 67^th U.S. secretary of state in 2009 until 2013. I think it is safe to say she has made strides for women through politics and continues to draw action even further. All of these life events are essential in how Hillary has the resume to fill the shoes as our President one day, maybe.

As a public figure for decades, basically. Her image has been strongly tainted with her email scandal that never seems to fade away. Looking past that, she has strong attributes that would make her a strong female representative of this great nation, but may take a little critiquing. Many may not see her in a positive light, as questions have surfaced around her misuse of emails, devotion to her husband, and things spoken of in the media. Others may perceive her as a strong, independent, driven woman who knows the political world and can relate to many across the country. I’m not much of a political person, which to be honest, I know very little because I strongly detest politics. From what I do know, Clinton wanted to be taken seriously this election, seen as a true politician who will fix real issues, not just focus on wealth, immigrants, and jobs (Trump’s only three focuses his whole campaign). Her past is in the past and people grow from their mistakes. I think she wanted a second chance to prove herself and America couldn’t put the past behind them.

Since it is too late for a turnaround, Clinton can still remain in the political spotlight by actually making a difference where she can. American doesn’t want someone who gives up easily, but someone who can prove their worth. Cultivating her stand on issues to be consistent from now till forever will bring success in the long run. It is better to fix those weaknesses, but even better to capitalize on those strength of a strong knowledgeable leader she possesses.

Honestly, Clinton has an image many will never look past. Her enthusiasm began to rise as threats from other parties began to take over her race to the finish line. This was a criticism that many wanted to see improvement on. Charisma in one attribute Clinton will need to work on if she wants to go for the gold a third and final time in 2020, which by then, her age may be a new factor others use against her. Americans are unpredictable on how they view candidates, which make for unpredictable politicians we get stuck having to choose from every four years or so. The world of politics is a lovely place, not.
