Clinton Debates

I have found a segment that shows a good representation of Clinton during the debates against Trump from the past campaign trail. This debate the third one between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton only, which focuses on the issue asked about abortion, which is a controversial topic in itself. This strongly shows how both candidates act during debates in my opinion, which out of all of them, was the most civil I’ve seen them and that is saying a lot.

When stating her stance on abortion, she repeatedly says she is in strong stance with Roe vs. Wade and women have the right to make their own decisions. These decisions have to be in consideration of the women and the fetus’s health. She is in strong favor of funding Planned Parenthood as well. Hillary did well in stating where she stands and using her meetings with women who have gone through this horrific event to build her credibility and confront Trump. She carried a passionate tone when speaking, which shows America how important this specific issue is to her. One thing she should have tried to tweak was the repetition of her Roe vs. Wade stance because there could have been more to new information instead of referring back to it multiple times.

Donald brought up Hillary’s stance on abortion when she was senator at the time. This posed as a challenge she needed to make sense of and she did that. She expressed how her views changed after meeting with women, which swayed her opinion to switch her views. She was quoted, “a fetus has no constitutional rights,” which seemed to catch her somewhat off guard, but she bounced back with a well worded answer. Another strong statement she made was talking about how the government should not be making the most personal decision for women. I thought this was a strong stance that many more would agree with and put her ahead regarding this specific issue. Of course, Trump continued his jabs, which Hillary kept to a minimum as per usual, which she used them scarcely to highlight how his views are opposite of hers and almost “dangerous.” This was a good tactic because it shows she will stand up and defend what she believes is right and to out her opponent.

So knowing an issue to this magnitude would be asked, especially against a candidate who has had controversial statements regarding abortion is important to be prepared for. I would prepare her to defend past stances with an exceptional explanation as to what has changed and why. This way people won’t be weary and have a vivid understanding on the change. She handled his jabs well and kept a neutral expression and looked directly at him while he spoke. This displayed great attention and shows readiness to answer when asked to. Overall, this shows how serious and well self disciplined she was when debating issues throughout the 2016 campaign.

Clinton Concession 2016

A concession speech for a presidential candidate can be a painful one considering they were defeated after years of hard work and dedication. Clinton’s was one of disappointment, but displayed a sign of hope for what the nation has to endure these next four long years of new leadership and administration. Throughout her speech true grit, heart, emotion, and gratitude for her great support and love America has to offer was prominent in her supportive “last” words to the people. The goal overall is to keep fighting, all while supporting and loving one another with no hate in their hearts. Coming together as one and staying connected is key to a great America, it’s a known fact.
Overall, it was an excellent speech in my own opinion. It was evident she spoke from the heart and almost charismatic in a sense of love and thankfulness for the support she received, which charisma has been a work in progress for her throughout the election. I did notice her facial expression only held constant to a smile or what’s like a blank look, which to me came off as a rehearsed and not really from the heart message. Again, this is how she carries herself during speeches and given the circumstances, this would have been hard for anyone to shine positive light on who is now our President.

As it was her final speech of the election, I’d expect her to cover all the issues she campaigned for. She addressed diversity, women, love of everyone, cultural acceptance, which all lead up to the “American Dream.” As her advisor I’d suggest shedding light on how everyone coming together can make the biggest difference and supporting what we have to work with. The whole idea is to leave people on a positive note, which means ensuring them that they can still make a difference as long as they work for the person besides them, not against them.

When looking at Clinton’s entire campaign run, I’d suggest she build a stronger image and sense of vulnerability. She was almost overconfident in beating Trump when it came down to the head to head match. She let him slip in there and take over voters that she could of persuaded to her side. I believe Bernie’s threat was a factor as well, which there she had a strong competitor. But it all comes down to tactics and believing in oneself, all while blinding out the haters (Trump) and focusing on your own path to the Presidential throne. Other than that, her concession speech was well said and executed, which didn’t leave a sour taste in American’s mouths. On the other hand, all I want to know is why the color purple? I’ve learned about the red power tie, but does this color choice symbol something for her, we may never know.

Team Clinton

Strengths
It feels as if Clinton has been around for decades, similar to how long Perry Ellis has been on the Kansas Men’s Basketball team. With her strong political resume strengths are easy to spot. She is an excellent public speaker, appeals to women, and strong support from many political figures. She’s a true fighter for the people, which is evident in the fact that she has gone thru two presidential elections to achieve the throne of the United States. She continues to share her political wealth even after the recent loss, which many refer to her as a scrapper for life.

Weaknesses
She has had her fair share of distrust displayed by her email scandal as well as being the wife of Bill Clinton, who has been the bearer if mistrust, which associates her automatically. Throughout the campaign her charisma has lacked and isn’t a big risk taker like her opponent, Mr. Trump. As holding secretary of state these past 8 years many would agree there hasn’t been much change from her as there should have been or that was promised during her time, which makes her lose appeal to the people.

Opportunities
An easy one, first women president, which would have made history. Her husband would be a great advisor from his experience as President. When trying to appeal to blue collar voters she has the upper hand since top business men don’t really appeal to them. Her image, according to some, may be seen as better when compared to Trump, which some think she is more nurturing and likeable.

Threats
Obviously, her past decisions, such as the scandal would hugely affect her campaign. Bernie Sanders was a big threat, since she seemed overly confident on beating him out. The rise of Trump caught her party off-guard, which I think was due to her overconfidence she’d beat out a businessman with no political experience, which definitely wasn’t the case.

Issues
From what I’ve heard and read, there are a wide variety of issues Hillary holds strong positions with. Her top three issues focused on were education, immigration, and healthcare. I strongly believe these are very important, but others could have gained more attention such as, women’s right, equal rights, and gun laws. As violence is on the rise involving guns, the time is now to control this will stronger enforcement. As Obama left office equal rights were on the up and up, which needs to continue and not back track since it took years to get where we are now. I feel very strong about these two issues as they affect me personally. I’d even add education in there as it is the root of our people and what America needs to succeed.

Team Clinton

Robby Mook-Campaign manager
Robby has been with Clinton since the 2008 campaign. He has worked closely with Vermont democrats early in his career, which started at age 14. He was largely involved in the primary campaigns in 2008 as ground operations to directly contact voters.
      Joel Benenson-Chief strategist and pollster
Joel worked with the Bill Clinton and Obama campaign as well. A former beer distributor and journalist. He used polling and voter data to assess the electorate.
      Amanda Renteria-Political director
Amanda worked with constituency groups to organize involvement with the Clinton Campaign. Prior, she worked for Goldman Sachs, a consultant for the city of San Jose, and was a high school math teacher. She was a legislative aid in 2004 for a Democrat of California.

I believe these three showed values Clinton shared among them. Each member has an impressive resume of high intelligence and strong political experience, which is needed for Clintons political backbone. None of them have had downfalls along their careers to put her campaign in harms way, which makes for a team to carry her to victory.

A Lady of Power

Hillary Clinton has been in the spotlight of the political world for an eternity, too dramatic? But really, it feels like one! Anyways, a fellow Midwesterner whose destiny was to pursue politics, which began at the Law School of Yale where she met her spouse, Bill Clinton. This was the beginning of her campaign to raise the rights of women in America and the sparks to her presidential aspirations in future years.

It all began when she served as first lady from 1993-2001, then became a U.S. senator from 2001-2009. Her dreams of presidency to this day has resulted in multiple downturns in the ultimate political dream of becoming our first female President. She holds the role of a women’s rights activist and government official, which Obama appointed her as the 67th U.S. secretary of state in 2009 until 2013. I think it is safe to say she has made strides for women through politics and continues to draw action even further. All of these life events are essential in how Hillary has the resume to fill the shoes as our President one day, maybe.

As a public figure for decades, basically. Her image has been strongly tainted with her email scandal that never seems to fade away. Looking past that, she has strong attributes that would make her a strong female representative of this great nation, but may take a little critiquing. Many may not see her in a positive light, as questions have surfaced around her misuse of emails, devotion to her husband, and things spoken of in the media. Others may perceive her as a strong, independent, driven woman who knows the political world and can relate to many across the country. I’m not much of a political person, which to be honest, I know very little because I strongly detest politics. From what I do know, Clinton wanted to be taken seriously this election, seen as a true politician who will fix real issues, not just focus on wealth, immigrants, and jobs (Trump’s only three focuses his whole campaign). Her past is in the past and people grow from their mistakes. I think she wanted a second chance to prove herself and America couldn’t put the past behind them.

Since it is too late for a turnaround, Clinton can still remain in the political spotlight by actually making a difference where she can. American doesn’t want someone who gives up easily, but someone who can prove their worth. Cultivating her stand on issues to be consistent from now till forever will bring success in the long run. It is better to fix those weaknesses, but even better to capitalize on those strength of a strong knowledgeable leader she possesses.

Honestly, Clinton has an image many will never look past. Her enthusiasm began to rise as threats from other parties began to take over her race to the finish line. This was a criticism that many wanted to see improvement on. Charisma in one attribute Clinton will need to work on if she wants to go for the gold a third and final time in 2020, which by then, her age may be a new factor others use against her. Americans are unpredictable on how they view candidates, which make for unpredictable politicians we get stuck having to choose from every four years or so. The world of politics is a lovely place, not.
